I totally believe in giving our children the best education possible. However, throwing money at schools does not guarantee a better education for the students. Some of the best funded schools in the nation do not necessarily produce the best college students. Many citizens are well aware of the mismanagement of funds by school administrators. They use the money to give themselves raises to admin staff but not the teachers. They also increase their own budget for the district office facilities. Even if the money went to improve facilities for the students, it usually gets directed to those geared for sports, not to science and math. If the money went to tools for the teachers and use in the classroom to foster a better environment conducive to learning, I would gladly pay more taxes to the school districts.
